DHQ urges visitors,,journalists to seek protection to move in Adamawa,Borno States.

Gen Olukolade.
The Defense Headquarters in Nigeria has appealed to tourists, journalists and adventurers to seek necessary security cover or clearance before moving in areas of security operations in Adamawa and Borno States where the Nigerian Armed Forces are currently engaging the Boko Haram group.

The appeal was contained in a statement issued by Director of Defense Information, Major General Chris Olukolade .

Gen Olukolade stated that the appeal was necessitated by the sudden increased movement of these set of people into areas of security operations in recent times in the two states.

He added that though the military believed in the freedom of movement in the country, the need for all persons to recognize the status of certain places in operational areas is also important.

The statement however assured that security arrangements will continue to be made for these categories of people especially visitors that have been duly vetted in line with security arrangements to the operational areas.
