: The clamour for the release of the secondary school girls
of Chibok, Borno state, has been taken
to Ibadan, Oyo State as women and children in the state filed out in their lar ge
numbers to seek divine intervention for the over 200 school girls who were
abducted by the notorious terrorist group, Boko Haram which has brought three
north east states of Nigeria to a near standstill with social and and economic
live of the areas in question paralysed
Though not the first of such protest to hold for the release
of the abducted girls in the c, the Ibadan
clamour however introduced a new style to protest rally as the women and
children dressed shabbily with their clothes worn inside out topped with red
scarf’s and caps on their heads, apparently to depict the mood of their
gathering.
A special feature of the “Let us call upon God to intervene
on behalf of abducted Chibok school girls” organized at the instance of the
wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi ,a mother herself, was the
brandishing of placards with such inscriptions as “Enough is Enough”, “End
abduction of women and girls now”.
In her address at the stadium, Florence Ajimobi prayed that
God should save Nigeria
from all acts of criminality with speed.
